Meet the Editor
Your like-minded, Curious Curator of Puzzling Stories
I’m Liz!
A wife and mom in Washington, D.C., originally from Panama, who’s been captivated by mysteries ever since I devoured my first thriller.
Growing up in a superstitious, story-rich culture, I fell in love with everything from ghostly legends like the Mary Celeste to lore of celestial visitors.
Now, as your editor and fellow curious curator, I collect the world’s most puzzling stories so you can dive into one compelling mystery instead of doomscrolling late into the night.
The Beginning
I’ll never forget the first time I heard about the Chupacabra.
As a little girl in Panama, I’d watch TV whenever my family tuned in, curious as reporters described mysterious livestock disappearances. That early fascination sent me straight to the bookshop, where I hunted down Nancy Drew mysteries, historical thrillers, and classics like Dracula and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
From that moment on, I knew I was hooked on stories the world can’t quite explain.
Why start this newsletter?
I’m not a formally published editor, what brought me here was the nightly ritual I shared with too many fellow mystery lovers: Longing to dive into long-form puzzlers but winding up doomscrolling through social media instead.
Realizing there were others like me craving a better end-of-day habit, I started curating bite sized deep dives into the most intriguing unexplained phenomena.
In my spare moments, I collect and distill the world’s strangest tales, ready for you to explore whenever you need an escape from the scroll.
Behind the Ink
When I sit down to curate a new mystery, I draw on a mix of sources. Everything from reputable online articles and insightful podcasts to spirited Reddit threads and the handful of books on my shelf.
I crosscheck facts across those channels to tease out the most intriguing nuggets and distill them into concise, bite sized deep dives.
The goal? To satisfy your curiosity and give you a captivating glimpse into each enigma, without the need to wade through pages of dry material.
